This facet’s vision is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy. Its goal is to increase the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increase collaborative partnerships and to extend our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need.
Bradenton/Sarasota (FL) Links Habitat for Humanity Build Day
Some of the life-changing programs that the National Trends and Services facet has executed in our communities are:

Habitat for Humanity Mentors in Sarasota County - assist candidates to qualify and become homeowners; provided sweat equity hours and collected items for donation at home dedication ceremonies; awarded new homeowners with $500; and sponsored a Habitat for Humanity Links Chapter Build Day

Implemented “AARP/Links Academy” – a series of workshops that dealt with topics such as Medicare, Health Disparities, Housekeeping and Home Care Services

Provided Voter Registrations and Candidates Forum in both Manatee and Sarasota Counties
