This facet promotes and facilitates programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources.
Go Red for Heart Health
Programs implemented included:

“Obesity Prevention and Education Awareness” for after-school students in at Lincoln Memorial Academy in collaboration with The Panda Foundation

Breast Cancer Awareness, “Life in the Cancer Lane” a play written by a chapter Alumni Link’s daughter while undergoing treatments for breast cancer was presented at the Westcoast Black Theatre and in collaboration with the Arts facet, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & Fundraiser

Organized community activities that heightened awareness about Organ, Tissue and Bone Marrow Donation, Heart Disease and HIV/AIDS

Implemented an Umbrella Program at Emma E. Booker Elementary School titled “Childhood Obesity Prevention – Can You Imagine Me?”
